Daytona Beach and Orange City Racing & Card Clubs to host Moneymaker Poker Tour Stop in August

16-trophy events featuring poker legend Chris Moneymaker is largest in clubs' Great American Poker Tournaments series

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - June 11, 2024 – Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club, in partnership with the recently expanded Orange City Racing & Card Club, in August is set to host the Moneymaker Poker Tour, featuring and founded by 2003 World Series of Poker Champion and poker legend Chris Moneymaker that is guaranteeing $600,000 across 16 trophy events.

The tournament, the latest in the club’s Great American Poker Tournaments (GAPT) series and first dual property event, will offer $600,000 in guaranteed prizes and take place August 14-26. Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club will host the first week of the tournament, August 14-20, highlighted by a $150,000 guarantee Mystery Bounty tournament.

The second week of the tournament, held August 20-26 and culminating with the $300,000 guaranteed Main Event Tournament, will be held at the Orange City Racing & Card Club. The event will be the first six-figure large stakes poker event held at the property, following the completion of a $1 million expansion that included the addition of 18 new poker tables.

Orange City Racing & Card Club will also debut its new live streaming technology during the tournament, including a cash game featuring Moneymaker, with details to be announced closer to the event, and the Main Event on August 26 at 2:15 p.m. ET, giving poker fans around the world a front-row seat to the action.

Moneymaker helped popularize poker by winning the Main Event at the 2003 World Series of Poker while working as an accountant and part-time restaurant employee. He has gone on to be an ambassador for poker and founded his own branded tour.

“We are excited to unveil the newly expanded Orange City Racing & Card Club with this landmark event,” said Fred Guzman, President and General Manager for Delaware North at Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club and Orange City Racing & Card Club. “The expansion at the property allows us to offer players an enhanced gaming experience, including more table games with reduced wait times and high stakes tournaments and events such as this one.”

The GAPT series, launched in 2023, has already yielded $3 million in winnings and is recognized as a top choice for tournament players in Florida. This year’s Moneymaker Poker Tour promises to build on this success, offering an exceptional environment of nonstop poker play.

“We are thrilled to host another stop this year with Chris Moneymaker and Tony Burns,” GAPT Tournament Director Byron Rodriguez said. “Their partnership has been exceptional, and we expect a great environment of action-filled, non-stop poker play. The newly expanded Orange City Racing & Card Club can now offer the Orlando market a convenient option for big tournaments, featuring high-stakes poker.

“This year we are happy to announce that there will be over $600,000 in guaranteed prizes for the event,” Rodriguez continued.
